Sesame Bean Sprouts

One of my favorite types of food is Korean food, especially the bean sprouts side dish.  Not all Korean restaurants serve that, and even when they do, they don't use the right type of sprouts (and by "right" I mean the type that I like).  I like the Bean Sprouts (the ones associated with Mung beans).  Since I always feel so greedy asking for refills at the restaurants, I decided to try and make it on my own so that I could eat as much as I want - guilt free!  My first batch turned out so yummy and exact that I decided to make some for my family as well.  Needless to say, it was a hit!

Ingredients: bean sprouts, sesame oil, sesame seeds, salt, pepper, minced garlic, green onion

Mix everything together once you've cooked and cooled the bean sprouts.  They're really easy to overcook, so I'd recommend taking them out exactly 4 minutes after you've put them into boiling water.  I tend to cook by taste so I don't have exact measurements, but it's easy to figure out.  Just continue to add the seasonings until you like the way it tastes!  Enjoy!

Mammoth Mountain

This past weekend, my siblings and I paid a quick visit to Mammoth for a snowboard/ski trip.  Can you believe that a full day lift ticket is $92?! We had a great time minus the "Follow Me Trail" and "Lower Dry Creek".  Those two trails had flat areas, and given that I'm a scaredy cat, would not build enough speed to get through them, thus had to use my hands to push forward, then would fall backwards, and then push myself up again, only to take my board off and walk to a decline (repeat).  At the end of the day, we were all so wiped out that we dined at The Stove and all passed out by 9PM that evening.  All in all, it was a wonderful trip and I am so happy to have spent quality time with family.

Duffy Boat

This weekend, one of my friends and her fiance treated a group of us to a duffy boat ride around Newport Bay!  All drinks and food were provided by the generous couple and a great time was had by all.  We sailed around the bay on a beautiful southern California day daydreaming about owning a boat and living in a million-dollar home.  Maybe one day...

I recently discovered  http://www.modcloth.com/ and found the most adorable skirts and dresses!  I love the classic vintage look (think 500 Days of Summer)!  I have picked out seven of my favorite pieces from the website to admire from afar as I cannot spend on any one item and because I know these pieces probably look better on a mannequin than it would on me - I only wish I could pull off this type of look!
