Celebrating in Maui!

My beautiful friend Amy got married in Maui this weekend and I had the honor to be a part of their special day.  I first met Amy 9 years ago at a joint work function.  Even though we live across the country from each other, our common love for travelling amongst other things kept us close and it wasn't long before our friendship developed into a sisterhood.  After all these years, I am so happy to see that all of her dreams have come true, most notably to marry a Hawaiian hunk.  The wedding was absolutely perfect in an unbelievable setting.  I absolutely love Maui and realize that there is nothing more liberating than sitting on the beach watching/listening to the waves crash under starry filled skies in Hawaii.

I Am Up In The Air

Okay, not literally.  Maybe just my head is (up in the air).

So, last week when I was in Albuquerque with my coworkers, we were all so out of it that we walked to our car after dinner only to realize after I pushed the unlock button on the remote, that our car was actually 3 cars down.  We all got a good laugh out of that.

But this morning, I alone, took it to a whole 'nother level.  I didn't sleep well last night, so I got up extra early this morning and did my usual coffee stop at Peet's coffee before heading into the office.

(Walks out to my car from Peet's)

Me: Argh, how am I supposed to get in without hitting this car next to me because it's parked so close?

(Looks at the parking lines)

Me: Oh, I guess it's my bad since I am parked so close to the line.

(Car doesn't unlock when I touch the door handle because it's already unlocked)

Me: Man, how could I have forgotten to lock my car?  So dangerous!

(Struggles with balancing act of holding door open while slipping my purse in without spilling my coffee.  Sits down in my seat and sees a blue portfolio on the passenger seat.)

Me: Omg, did someone put this in my car while I was in Peet's?

(Looks around some more)

Me: Omg!  I'm in the wrong car!

Seriously...what are the chances that an identical car parked near mine is unlocked?  This was an honest mistake and is by no means any reflection on me...or so I'd like to think.  Although, in the words of my coworker: You take the moron cake on this one.

Yay, cake!

P.S. This blog is for you Dot, since you deemed this blogworthy.
