Simple Acts

I find myself reflecting on simple acts today.  During our sermon this morning, the Pastor talked about how the simple act of picking his wife up at the airport in a foreign country where he had arrived at earlier, meant so much to her, but to him, he didn't even think twice about it.  This example made me go back in time reminiscing all of the simple acts that had been given to me which I appreciate even more today.
  • Taking a 1 hour subway commute to pick me up at the airport even though I could have easily taken a cab
  • Leaving the heater on the entire week just so I wouldn't be cold when I arrived on the weekend
  • Random notes, cards and flowers - just because
  • A surprise birthday cake at the resort even though we were miles away from home
  • Homemade cards and handwritten poems
  • A surprise home cooked meal with a customized printed menu to boot
  • Pulling an all nighter to patiently tutor me in class materials I was not at all familiar with, resulting in a solid A on the midterm the next day!
  • Making themselves available at any time of the day because they knew I needed someone to talk to
Thank you to those who have given to and served me whether I deserved it at the time.  To those who constantly raise me up with their words and loving me despite my weaknesses.  To those who valued my feelings and showered me with grace even when I was a hypocrite.  I am humbled by your selflessness and your enormous heart.  We need more of you in this world.  I need more of you...
