I Frown A Lot

No really, I do.  I frown when the sun is shining in my eyes and I don't have my sunglasses on, when I'm reading a confusing email from my client and I'm trying to figure out the most politically correct way to respond, when I'm running and focusing on getting myself to the finish line, when I'm in deep thought or am stressing out about something, when I'm watching something violent, scary, or gross on TV but I can't turn away, when I'm playing my guitar and singing, the list just goes on and on.  And so I worry about my frown lines at my brow, and as if it'd really work, I reverse my frown as an attempt to smooth out my frown lines:

Only to realize that when I do that, I am merely creating forehead wrinkles.  Of course you can't see them here because of the lighting, but they're there alright.  Forehead wrinkles, I find, are most popular during the application of mascara in the mornings.  Anyway, my point is that by trying to fix one thing, I'm creating another problemo.  I don't have a resolution to this little dilemma, so I'll just end this with a big smile that leads to zero lines around the forehead/brow area.  But wait, doesn't smiling create wrinkles around the eyes and mouth?  Oh geez, haha.

And for those who are wondering, yes, I am having one of those "I don't feel like working days". Okay, back to work I go! =P

A Love Filled Weekend

Two exciting events occurred this weekend!  First, one of my dearest friends from high school got hitched at the beautiful Viansa Winery in Sonoma.  I love these two individually and as a couple.  Everytime I spend time with them, they are always laughing together so much that it's infectious.  It makes me so happy to see two people, so perfect for each other, begin an exciting new journey together and I am so grateful to have been able to share such a memorable day with them!

Congratulations to the new Lee family!

The other exciting event was a bridal shower for one of my closest girl friends.  Miss Q will be tying the knot in July and the girls couldn't be more excited for her!

All the girls

The bridesmaids and the bride to be!

Congratulations, love!

Celebrating in Maui!

My beautiful friend Amy got married in Maui this weekend and I had the honor to be a part of their special day.  I first met Amy 9 years ago at a joint work function.  Even though we live across the country from each other, our common love for travelling amongst other things kept us close and it wasn't long before our friendship developed into a sisterhood.  After all these years, I am so happy to see that all of her dreams have come true, most notably to marry a Hawaiian hunk.  The wedding was absolutely perfect in an unbelievable setting.  I absolutely love Maui and realize that there is nothing more liberating than sitting on the beach watching/listening to the waves crash under starry filled skies in Hawaii.

I Am Up In The Air

Okay, not literally.  Maybe just my head is (up in the air).

So, last week when I was in Albuquerque with my coworkers, we were all so out of it that we walked to our car after dinner only to realize after I pushed the unlock button on the remote, that our car was actually 3 cars down.  We all got a good laugh out of that.

But this morning, I alone, took it to a whole 'nother level.  I didn't sleep well last night, so I got up extra early this morning and did my usual coffee stop at Peet's coffee before heading into the office.

(Walks out to my car from Peet's)

Me: Argh, how am I supposed to get in without hitting this car next to me because it's parked so close?

(Looks at the parking lines)

Me: Oh, I guess it's my bad since I am parked so close to the line.

(Car doesn't unlock when I touch the door handle because it's already unlocked)

Me: Man, how could I have forgotten to lock my car?  So dangerous!

(Struggles with balancing act of holding door open while slipping my purse in without spilling my coffee.  Sits down in my seat and sees a blue portfolio on the passenger seat.)

Me: Omg, did someone put this in my car while I was in Peet's?

(Looks around some more)

Me: Omg!  I'm in the wrong car!

Seriously...what are the chances that an identical car parked near mine is unlocked?  This was an honest mistake and is by no means any reflection on me...or so I'd like to think.  Although, in the words of my coworker: You take the moron cake on this one.

Yay, cake!

P.S. This blog is for you Dot, since you deemed this blogworthy.

Hong Kong and Seoul!

My good friend Susan and I crammed Hong Kong and Seoul into 6 short days.  This is what our days consisted of (no joke): Sleep.  Eat.  Walk.  Snack.  Walk.  Eat.  Walk.  Snack.  Walk.  Eat.  Walk.  Snack.  Walk.  Repeat.  Since we took 600+ pictures between the two of us, I decided to put together a slideshow of our most memorable moments for your viewing pleasure.

Hong Kong

Even with 3-4 mins of song time, I had to split the pictures up by country and still couldn't include all of our experiences, so if you're bored, you can peruse through all of our pictures here:
